
PASTOR GARY STRODE
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Pastor Strode grew up in both Iowa and
Indiana. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Leadership and Urban
Ministry from The College of Biblical Studies, Indianapolis, Indiana an ABA Degree in Business Administration from Cleary University Ann Arbor, Michigan, and recently renewed his certification with the Michigan Certification Board For Addiction Professionals CCAR Training program to become a state licensed Drug Recovery Coach Specialist. He also, is a certified Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Mental Health Peer Coach.
In 2005 he was Ordained and Licensed to preach the Gospel under the
leadership of Rev. Doctor Phillip L. Shobe at St John’s Missionary Baptist
Church Indianapolis, Indiana. As Associate Minister, Rev. Strode
served on the Juvenile and Prison Outreach Ministry Team.
In 2013 he accepted the call to become the Interim Pastor/Executive
Pastor at After Christ Christian Center (ACCC) in Detroit, Michigan.
While at ACCC, Pastor Strode developed collaborative initiatives
with other non-profit organizations and suburban churches to meet
the food insecurities and home repair needs of inner-city home-bound
senior homeowners.
Reverend Strode is married to his best friend and Mentor Cassandra
(Strode) and they are the proud parents of four Adult Children, six
grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Every year, we proudly host Angel Tree in an effort to support the children of incarcerated individuals.

Twice a year, H.O.P.E. in Detroit publishes a newsletter to keep its supporters up-to-date on what we have accomplished.

H.O.P.E. partnered with Covenant Community Care and Ark of Deliverance Church to reach and administer
COVID-19 vaccines to vulnerable populations in Detroit.
2021-2022
H.O.P.E. partnered with SouthEast Catholic Charities and CRU Inner City to distribute 1,000 boxes of fresh food and vegetables at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit.
June and July 2020

H.O.P.E. partnered with the City of Detroit, providing resources for community members to knowledgeably apply for jobs.
