Shadow Step

Overview

The Shadow Step program aims to uplift incarcerated men at the Macomb Correctional Facility through dialogue and volunteer speakers. Program facilitators will provide tools, support, and encouragement to help mentees thrive inside and outside the facility by emphasis of the following seven pillars:

  1. Accountability through improved behavior.
  2. Affirmation with group discussions and support.
  3. Community by modeling positive behavior.
  4. Integrity in being honest.
  5. Productivity through implementation of newly learned attitudes.
  6. Responsibility to continue improving and practicing positive behaviors.
  7. Restoration by making amends with family and community.
